Sample Dispute Credit Bureau Letter
Below is an example of a letter that you can send to all 3 of the credit bureaus to have questionable items removed or investigated further. Make sure that you keep a copy for yourself when sending these letters to the credit bureau companies. Include any copies of proof that you have, such as copies of checks or statements of paid off accounts.
Important Tip: Remember to send your letters by certified mail. This
will give you the best chance at having your letter viewed before others. They
are overloaded with over 20,000 letters a day, your letter needs to stick out.

I've just reviewed my credit report and have noticed there are several inaccurate items on my report:

This account is listed as being 30 days late. I have never been late on this
account.
In addition, there are a number of credit accounts which have been inactive for more than 7 years. As you know, the FCRA states that all credit older than 7 years should be removed from my report. The following accounts should be removed:
